This chili is a powerhouse of flavour and benefits, loaded with antioxidants, lycopene and vitamins that will keep your mind energized and body fueled 

 

INGREDIENTS

The Sauce

12 Roma Tomatoes 

1 Cup Sundried Tomatoes, soaked

1-2  Medjool Dates

1/4 Yellow Onion, chopped finely

2 Tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil

2 Cloves Garlic, minced

1 Tbsp Chili Powder

1 Tsp Garlic Powder

1 Tsp Onion Powder

1 Tsp Crushed Red Pepper Flakes

1/4 Tsp Cayenne Pepper

1 Tsp Dried Oregano

1 Tsp Paprika

1 Tbsp Ground Cumin

Salt to taste 

 

The Chili

1-2 Cup Sprouted Lentils - see salads for recipe

1 Red Pepper, diced

1 Orange Pepper, diced

1 Yellow Pepper, diced

 

DIRECTIONS

1.   Sprout lentils as per recipe

 

2.  Soak sun dried tomatoes for an 1 hr in water to soften

 

2.  Add lentils and peppers to bowl and mix

 

3.  Add all sauce ingredients tomatoes, sundried tomatoes, dates, onion, olive oil, garlic, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, crushed chili flakes, cayenne pepper, oregano, paprika and cumin to food processor and blend to desired consistency is acheived

 

4.  Pour sauce onto lentils and peppers and mix until coated

 

5.  Spoon into a bowl and enjoy!!!

 

FBR TIPS

  • Keep tasting the sauce as you blend, when preparing raw recipes flavours are much stronger so you don't want to over power the sauce is a particular spice

  • If you want a thicker sauce add more sundried tomatoes, but balance it with more roma tomatoes and dates

  • If you want a sweeter sauce, add 1 or 2 more dates
