Cold, icy, frosty, chills are all words that seem to be fitting for January. Especially with the deep freeze that we are experiencing!!!
When you think of anything cold, what colour do you think of? I think of the colour blue, which inspired me to create January’s smoothie.
For this month’s smoothie, I decided to keep it really simple. Since after the holidays it is about getting back to the basics and back to a budget. It is all about the blueberry, which I think is appropriate for the month that is associated with the blues.
Pretty much anything you make with blueberries is doing great things to the body. This powerful little berry has the highest antioxidant capacity off all fresh fruits, neutralizes free radicals which can affect disease and aging in the body and can help promote urinary tract and brain health.
Blue Frosty Smoothie is plant powered, raw, vegan, dairy free, nut free, gluten free, egg free and soy free.
The only challange with blueberries, is when you blend them they turn purple. So frosty is more purple, then blue. Your little yogi’s won’t care, because it is so delicious.
